New Clerk-Treasurer Sworn In for Town of Beverly Shores

New_Clerk-Treasurer_Sworn_In_for_Town_of-1On Monday, December 1, Jon L. Voelz was officially appointed and sworn in as the new Clerk-Treasurer of the Town of Beverly Shores. Porter County Democrat Party Chairman Jeffrey Chidester announced the appointment at Beverly Shores Town Hall. Town Council President Geof Benson then administered the oath of office.

Voelz will begin serving the remaining one year of current Clerk-Treasurer Laura Sullivan's term on January 1, 2015. Sullivan announced her resignation in October to pursue other endeavors with her last day being December 31.

Voelz thanked Sullivan for her public service and for her efforts to make the transition as smooth as possible. He added that he had tremendous respect for anyone willing to serve their community.

"I look forward to providing prompt and accurate financial reports to the Town Council and administering day-to-day services at the highest level," said Voelz. "I also look forward to working closely with the Town's department heads and members of boards and commissions on ways to make Town government more efficient and innovative."

For the past several years, Voelz has worked as the part-time Clerk of the Violations Bureau. He will continue in that role in addition to his duties as Clerk-Treasurer.
