Munster men’s swim team takes home the 2021 Northwest Crossroads Conference title

The 2021 Northwest Crossroads Conference was hosted by Hobart High school. Swimmers from Lowell, Highland, Kankakee Valley, Munster, and Hobart high schools participated. From the start it was clear the Munster swim team was going to come out on top as they took first in every event but one. An exhilarating day all around, Swimmers gave it their all with many breaking personal records.

Munster won the 200 yard Medley Relay with Lowell second and Hobart third. In the 200 yard Freestyle, Munster took the top three spots with Lowell fourth and HIghland fifth. In the 200 yard IM, Fenry Zhou of Munster took first with a time of 2:00.88. In the 50 yard Freestyle Kenneth Reed of Munster took first as well won first in the 100 yard Butterfly earning himself back to back blue ribbons.

Scott Robbins of Munster took first in the 100 yard Freestyle with a time of 50.95 seconds. Griffin Poulsen won the 500 yard Freestyle with a time of 4:43:41. The Munster 200 yard relay team won with a time of 1:31.06 with Lowell winning second and Highland third. In a surprising turn of events Lowell’s Jaxon Skinner took first in the 100 yard Backstroke with a time of 56.79 seconds. Fenry Zhou won another blue ribbon taking first place in the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 59.79.

For the final event, the 400 yard freestyle relay, Munster took first with a time of 3:20.68. Overall team points were Kankakee Valley with 134 points, Hobart with 203 points, Highland with 205 points, Lowell with 216 points, and the 2021 Northwest Crossroads Champs with 421 points.
