Munster Med-Inn’s Outpatient Therapy Offers Clients Freedom and Specialized Care

The road to full recovery after a major surgery such as a knee or hip replacement can be quite the journey. Many patients in the region qualify to recuperate at rehab facilities such as Munster Med-Inn, which offers comprehensive programming designed to get patients back to their normal lives as soon as possible. Others prefer the option of outpatient rehabilitation, where they can benefit from the clinical expertise of the Munster Med-Inn staff on an appointment basis, while getting a good night’s sleep in their own bed.

Outpatient therapy is for those recovering from surgery, working through cardiac issues, strokes, cancer or, other conditions. A physician’s order for therapy is required. Tony Goin, Therapy Director, leads Munster Med-Inn’s dedicated team, which provides comprehensive treatment customized to fit individual patient needs.

“Our philosophy is centered on the client,” Goin said. “We aim to establish focused goals and a unique plan of care based on each client’s needs and desires. It’s a fun, high energy team that strives to build a healthy relationship with everyone that comes through our doors.”

Because every patient follows a different rehab schedule, therapy typically takes two to four weeks. Some of the most common issues the Med-Inn team tackle are stair climbing, pain management, and general joint strengthening and range of motion improvement. “We stand out by having professionals that have worked numerous years in a wide number of settings,” Goin said. “From home health and outpatient care, to acute and long-term facilities, our team has the experience to understand each client’s goals.”

An average program consists of three physical therapy sessions per week, each lasting about 45 minutes to an hour.

“The idea behind outpatient care is to provide quality physical therapy without disrupting the client’s daily life,” Goin said. “It’s another way to give our clients more control over their own health.”
