Munster High School Student Named Delegate to US Senate Youth Program

dan-green-youthsenatedelegateMunster High School student Daniel Green has recently been selected as a delegate for the 53rd annual United States Senate Youth Program. (USSYP) that will be held March 7 – 14, 2015 in Washington, D.C. Green will be part of a group of 104 student delegates who will attend the program’s 53rd annual Washington Week, along with receiving a $5,000 undergraduate college scholarship.

Green attends Munster High School and serves as the president of Student Government and the vice president of DECA. He is a member of the National Honor Society, several academic teams, and the soccer team. He has served three years in student government and received the Principal’s Award of Excellence. Daniel was the We The People team assistant captain and historian and has been secretary of the Civics Club. In addition, he volunteers at Community Hospital and tutors at the library. He plans to attend a four-year university and study economics, followed by medical school.

Katherine Hitchcock of Signature School in Evansville was also named from Indiana.
