Munster High School Speech Team Wins Bradley University Tournament for First Time in School History

Munster-High-School-Speech-Team-Wins-Bradley-University-Tournament-for-First-Time-in-School-HistoryOver the weekend the Munster High School Speech and Debate Director Jordan Mayer and Assistant Coach Jill Wichert led the team to Peoria, IL with the help of parents Patti Stofko and Ayanna Brown. The Munster High School Speech team won the Bradley University George Armstrong Invitational tournament for the first time in school history. Participating in one of the largest collegiate speech tournaments in the nation, the Munster Speech team bested students of 23 High Schools from 8 states. Individual students finishing in the top three of their category include:

  • Duet Acting: 2 nd - Maya Radjenovich and Noel Fary; 3 rd Ben Peters and Kelly Collins
  • Duo: 1 st - Jack Sullivan and Michael McDunn ; 2 nd Alexandria Shinkan and Chloe Jancosek
  • Novice Dramatic Interpretation: 3 rd - Imani Brown
  • Novice Humorous Interpretation: 1 st - Michael McDunn ; 3 rd - Rajiv Kalluri
  • Novice Poetry Interpretation: 2 nd - Michael McDunn
  • Novice Prose Interpretation: 1 st - Imani Brown
  • Varsity Dramatic Interpretation: 1 st - Maya Radjenovich
  • Varsity Extemporaneous Speaking: 2 nd - Easan Venkat
  • Varsity Humorous Interpretation: 2 nd - Noah Moell ; 3 rd - Noel Fary
  • Varsity Poetry Interpretation: 1 st - Tara Layous
  • Varsity Prose Interpretation: 1 st - Maya Radjenovich

Congratulations to Mr. Noah Moell for receiving the Jay Janssen Oratorical Scholarship award. Jay Janssen and Bradley University have teamed up to offer three scholarships to incoming freshmen to Bradley University. These scholarships will be awarded to the top three finishers in a special oratory contest. The following information outlines some of the criteria and eligibility:

  • Competitors must be seniors in high school, and must have applied to Bradley.
  • Students must participate on the Bradley speech team while using the scholarship.
  • Students must give an 8-10 minute original oration.
