The Munster High School Dance Teams had a very successful year. Both the JV and Varsity teams won first place at the IHSDTA state finals competition in the pom category for the third year in a row. In the jazz category, both teams earned 2nd place. The competition took place at New Castle High School.
The varsity team also attended the NDA nationals in Orlando, Florida and earned 3rd place in pom and 6th place in jazz.
Dancers also have the opportunity to participate in extra dances individually and in small groups. For solos, Melissa Fronczek took third for senior solos. Savanah Sharpe took first place in junior solos. The small ensemble dancers were Stephanie Niemiec, Alina Arzumanian, and Jamie DeJoan and placed second. The large ensemble with dancers Jill Cuvala, Sugar Fane, Melissa Fronczek, Monica Fronczek, Emma Harvath, Savanah Sharpe, and Alexandra Vjestica also placed second.
The Munster Dance Teams are coached by Head Coach: Cynthia Banas, Assistant Coach: Schhaya Gray and Volunteer Coaches: Jennifer Kruhm, Angela Mattozzi and Kristen Szafasz.
