Mud, Set, Spike!

It was a great time as people headed out to the Rugby Field in Hobart and watched the finals of the Jaycees Mud Volley BallTournament took place on Sunday. This is the 5th year for this event and the proceeds go to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Riley Children's Hospital (Camp Äbout Face).

This year there were over 72 teams and 600 players who started competing on Saturday in the hopes of earning a berth in Sunday’s elimination tournament.

A variety of vendors were at the event offering spectators and players delicious foods such as pizza, hotdogs and hamburgers. A beer garden was on site to enjoy after your game or while you were watching one!

This year they added a “base camp” area where players can go to relax and get ready for your next match. A small “shower” was on the site to try to wash off your dried on mud and then you can head on out to get a bite or enjoy playing some bags and mingling with the other competitors.

Many came out and cheered on their favorite team. They ate some of the great food and stuck around to see which team won the coveted beer can trophy and contribute to a really great cause.
