Midwest Express Clinic: In difficult times, spread smiles not germs
By: Midwest Express Clinic Last Updated: July 1, 2020

This year has been anything but ordinary. With unprecedented times come unprecedented responses.

At Midwest Express Clinic, the staff has worked diligently to flatten the curve by implementing non-traditional business practices in addition to usual operations.

“With the whirlwind of COVID-19 testing and antibody testing, it is important not to neglect every day individual health needs, especially as things begin to reopen,” says Midwest Express Clinic’s Kaitlyn Steinberg, FNP-BC, Director of Clinical Operations. “That’s right – come in and get your wellness exam!”

As Midwesterners return to work and into a feeling of normalcy, MEC staff wants patients to know they are still here!

The neighborly comfort offered at all 17 locations across Indiana and Illinois is still available. In addition to wellness exams, Midwest Express Clinic is still offering all of its services including family care, women's healthcare, lab testing and non-emergency injuries. For children who are returning to school, sports and summer camp, MEC is offering annual physicals for only $25!

Worried about the spread of COVID-19 and how it might affect you? Midwest Express Clinic provides peace of mind. MEC continues to offer COVID-19 swab and antibody tests through their improved outdoor tent system. All tents are set up for drive-through and curbside care to ensure that the main office remains safe and uncontaminated for all other services – and so you can stay as safe as possible! Need to get clearance for work? No problem – MEC can provide that as well.

Your mental and physical health and safety is MEC’s priority during this pandemic. COVID-19 swab testing is available in Munster, Schererville, Crown Point, Dyer, and Merrillville. COVID-19 antibody testing is available at all 17 locations in Indiana and Illinois. Patients should not show symptoms for at least seven days for the antibody test. MEC’s recommendation is to be symptom-free for 14 days prior to coming in for a test.

“We’ll always be a place to help people get better," Kate Cunningham, Operations and Human Resources, said. “It’s at the core of everything we do.”

Midwest Express Clinic aims to continue providing smiles to patients. With keeping your health and safety as a priority, MEC wants to make sure you leave smiling!

All Midwest Express Clinic locations are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Patients should find their nearest location and check in online at midwestexpressclinic.com with an ID and insurance card ready. Most insurance is accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid.
