To show thanks to all the hard-working employees at Methodist Hospitals, Methodist Hospital’s Food Services department hosted an employee picnic at both the Southlake and Northlake campuses this week. Employees came together to enjoy catered lunch and comradery.
While the thankfulness for the staff is the same every year, the theme of the event changes. This year’s theme was fiesta. The fiesta menu consisted of meat or vegetarian street tacos, ground beef walking tacos, elote, and churros. The outdoor space was decorated to match the theme: brightly colored tablecloths decorated the tables, towers of spiraling balloons flaunted giant sombreros and life-size cacti were made out of green balloons. Employees could also receive their annual flu shot shot at the event.
Amy Grzyb, Director of Food and Nutrition Services, believes that the employee picnic is Methodist’s opportunity to thank our employees for everything they do, but a special kudos goes out to the Food Services staff who prepared and coordinated the meal.
“The food services staff work very hard to make sure the event is a success, it is a great feeling to see all the smiling faces enjoy the picnic,” Grzyb said.
