Salk Elementary School was chosen by the Merrillville Lowe's store for their community project this year. Lowe's donated flowers, mulch, birdbaths, picnic tables, sandboxes, and many gardening supplies to beautify Salk's courtyards. Lowe's employees worked hard alongside Salk staff and parents to put all of these great things into place.
Salk students and staff work so hard on a daily basis, Mrs. Kathy Sapyta, principal of Salk, wanted to be sure they had a beautiful place to read, learn, relax, and enjoy. Salk is so thankful for this wonderful opportunity provided by Lowe's and is certainly appreciative of the generosity.
