The Merrillville Community Planetarium is more than a place to view and learn about the sky; it’s also a great place to hold private gatherings, like birthday parties.

Turn your next party into an event by holding it at the planetarium. The private show fee of $82 includes up to one hour in the theater for a planetarium show of choice and one hour in the waiting area where food can be served and party activities can take place.

The holiday season is a great time of year to hold a gathering. The planetarium offers a new full-dome planetarium show, “Let It Snow – A Holiday Music Journey,” available from mid-November to the end of December.

“Let It Snow” features a variety of classic songs from Frank Sinatra and Chuck Berry to Burl Ives and Brenda Lee, all accompanied by festive animations filling the entire planetarium dome. The 30 minute recorded program may be followed by a live guided tour of constellations, bright stars, and planets of the winter sky.
