Students to explore behavioral health professions, self-care & wellness activities and VR simulation experiences
Indiana University Northwest is inviting local high school juniors, seniors and rising college freshmen to a unique summer opportunity that blends mental health education with career exploration.
The Mental Health & Career Exploration Summer Camp, hosted by the IU Northwest School of Social Work and supported by the Northwest Indiana Area Health Education Centers, will take place June 24–26 on the IU Northwest campus.
This free, three-day camp offers students a hands-on introduction to the behavioral health fields of social work and psychology while equipping them with practical tools to support their own mental well-being.
Campers will engage in interactive learning experiences, wellness activities and professional networking designed to spark career interest and personal growth.
Program highlights

Schedule
- June 24–25: 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- June 26: 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Camp eligibility & registration
The camp is open to local students entering 11th or 12th grade in fall 2025, or rising college freshmen. Space is limited on a first-come, first-served basis. Parental consent forms required for those under 18.
