The Porter County Parks & Recreation Department will hold a public meeting on Monday, June 2nd to discuss the proposed development of a new park in South Porter County. The meeting will be held at Morgan Township Middle/High School from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Representatives from the Parks Department and other members of the community will be on hand to review the proposed Park Master Plan and gather input for the new park.
The project consists of a new 63.5 acre park south of Valparaiso. The existing property is currently under agricultural production. It is bordered by SR 49 to the east and residential properties to the west, north and south. The program is intended to accommodate both active and passive uses, with emphasis on active uses. Likely uses include athletic fields, pedestrian trails and non-programmed open space.
