Meals on Wheels to hold Volunteer Orientation and Training Session on Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Meals-on-WheelsThere is nothing more rewarding than knowing you are making a difference in someone’s life. We are currently recruiting drivers/delivery volunteers in the Whiting, Lake Station, and St. John/Schererville communities. If you have knowledge of these towns, and would like to help your neighbors delivering meals to their homes, we would love to have you join us for training. Each day, volunteers assist in the delivery of more than 1,200 meals throughout Lake County. According to Joan Vith, Volunteer Manager, “volunteers are our greatest resource, we look forward to having new volunteers join us. “

Interested candidates are invited to attend Volunteer Orientation and Training Session at the Meals on Wheels Community Room, 8446 Virginia Street in Merrillville. A one-hour session will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday, March 19th at 1:00 p.m. Applicants will have an opportunity to tour the facility and ask questions about Meals on Wheels and the different volunteer opportunities we have available.

To register for training, or for more information on individual or corporate volunteering opportunities, contact Joan at (219)-756-3663, or email joan@mownwi.org
