McColly Real Estate’s Nancy Frigo lends 30 years of experience to Hard Rock project in Gary

With qualifications including operating her own major franchise, conducting feasibility studies, and gaining experience in the field of real estate spanning from residential to commercial to development, Real Estate Broker Nancy Frigo of McColly Real Estate was highly qualified to work on recent projects for Hard Rock Casino. Wanting to build a new Hard Rock Casino in Gary, Ind., Hard Rock leaders approached Frigo to assist them with certain aspects of the project due to her 30 years of experience.

Vice President of Procurement & Administration of the Seminole Hard Rock Support Services Justin Armstrong noted his appreciation for Frigo’s expertise and aid on the project. Frigo’s knowledge of the local market and feasibility reports served as a valuable asset for the project, helping Hard Rock leaders make smart and effective decisions.

“For the past 18 months, we have been working with Ms. Frigo on a number of real estate projects and we have been extremely satisfied with her service, attention to detail, and professionalism,” Armstrong said. “Her expertise has been invaluable in having these projects come to a reality, and we look forward to our continued relationship with working with her.”

Frigo considered it an honor to be approached by Hard Rock to work on the project in Gary. She was proud to be part of a project with a company that has such a far reach that even one of the women on her team from the Dominican Republic noted that Hard Rock even has a casino there.

She was also proud to be involved because of how she admires the way Hard Rock persisted through the COVID-19 pandemic by not only helping people keep their existing jobs, but also by creating new jobs through the building of the Hard Rock Casino in Gary. The new casino put around 500 to 800 people to work in the Region during a time when employment was scarce.

“I knew so many people that were laid off, and it was really hard for those people,” Frigo said. “For them to go back to work and get into a good entity is solid. Not very many companies were open throughout the pandemic, and these people were building. You didn’t see a lot of building going on such as a casino, but they did it.”

“I’m really excited about the success of that project and the fruit of that labor and what they’re doing there,” Frigo continued. “It has stimulated the economy when the economy was crazy. Everyone was like, ‘What’s going on with them?’ I said, ‘They’re working! They’re getting it together.’ I was doing things with them, and we just kept at it. Now that they opened, I see the impact of it, and I firmly believe that it’s doing great. I mean, look at the jobs they created. With those jobs comes this other entity where people are hopefully reinvesting in their homes and looking to purchase and sell homes in the area. It’s a full-circle entity and I’m thrilled.”

Having chosen to stay at the Hard Rock Casino in Chicago before it closed down when she had meetings in the city simply because it was fun, Frigo looks forward to seeing people go to the new casino for that same reason.

“The Hard Rock project is really good for the Region because it’s a facility that’s going to have the opportunity to make people happy, smile, have fun,” Frigo said. “I think that’s a really great thing, and I’m really glad I got to be a part of that.”
