Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson recently spoke to the Portage Exchange Club. Wilson praised Portage's Mayor James Snyder for reaching out and encouraging a positive and cooperative relationship between the two cities. She also discussed some of the hot topics of the day, such as the "fuss over garbage," reducing the cost of government to its citizen/customers and investing in good transportation options.
"There are people of all ages but especially young people who are anxious to bring the city of Gary back. We can't just wish for it, though. We must develop our way out of our problems," Freeman-MaWilson said.
