Weiss Entities, LLC, is seeking a Maintenance/Service Technician to provide upkeep at our 407- unit apartment complex located in Valparaiso, IN.
This individual is vital to the successful maintenance of the site, through attention to service that affects the overall cleanliness, appearance and quality of the property and its presentation to its residents and to the community. The Service Technician should have a skilled degree of building trades knowledge. One year or more of experience in a Service Technician or similar role is preferred but not required.
The Service Technician is responsible for apartment turnovers, property maintenance, inspections, repairs, and appliance/equipment installations as needed, maintaining property grounds, responding to service calls in a timely and professional manner, work standby (on-call) maintenance on a regular rotation and the ability to constantly work in various outdoor weather conditions.
A strong customer service focus, an outgoing personality, a high level of patience and solid work history are required.
An ideal candidate will have:
Qualifications
- Some building trades knowledge.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Must meet all physical requirements and be able to take directions.
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and/or situations.
Experience
- Property maintenance or similar experience preferred but will train the right candidate.
- Knowledge of hand & power tools as well as protective equipment.
- Knowledge of Federal Fair Housing Laws & Guidelines a plus.
