Lubeznik Center for the Arts Presents First Friday Open Mic Night

Lubeznik Center for the Arts Presents First Friday Open Mic Night

Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) will host its annual First Friday Open Mic Night after a three-year hiatus on Friday, September 2, 2022, from 5 to 8 p.m. All are welcome to enjoy lively performances, complimentary light refreshments and a cash bar. As always, admission is free.

Hosted once again by dynamic emcee Tim Rounds, LCA’s Open Mic Night provides a platform for local performers to share their talents with the community. Musicians, poets, stand-up comics and spoken word artists interested in performing can register online up by visiting LubeznikCenter.org/Events, clicking on “Open Mic Night” and then clicking on “Register Here.” Spots are limited and fill quickly, so sign up today!

Janet Bloch, LCA’s executive director said, “Open mic night is one of my favorite First Friday events. The talent out there is pretty amazing! It encourages people to be brave and share their creativity. We are known for our supportive audience.”

In addition to enjoying live performances, First Friday attendees can view moniquemeloche presents…, LCA’s summer’s exhibition. The exhibit showcases an international roster of emerging artists working in all media represented by Monique Meloche Gallery in Chicago. Their program has been diverse and inclusive since its inception and aims to be a trailblazer for artistic talents early or under-recognized in their careers.

Downstairs in the large NIPSCO Art Education Studios, the Land of Lakes Art Alliance will be presenting their “Hidden Gems” group exhibition. Land of Lakes Art Alliance is a group of dedicated artists based in La Porte County. Their ages range from late twenties to early nineties. Their subject matter is varied, light filled and full of character. In the small NIPSCO Art Education Studios, Ginny Scott is showing her "Abstraction/Illusion" exhibition.
