Lauren Igras was a winner in the 200 yard freestyle event for the Lowell High School Girls Swimming team Tuesday night, but the Red Devils were unable to defeat visiting Kankakee Valley, falling 117-66.
Igras was the lone Lowell swimmer to finish first in an event, completing the 200 free in 2 minutes, 25.99 seconds. She earned six points for her team with the effort.
Kankakee Valley had the top score in the 200 yard IM, 50 yard freestyle, 1 mtr. diving, 100 yard butterfly, 100 yard freestyle, 200 yard freestyle, 100 yard backstroke, 100 yard breaststroke and 400 yard free relay events.
The 200 yard medlay also went to Kankakee Valley, who had the top two teams finish in that race. KV also had the top two finishers in the 50 yard freestyle and top three scores in the 100 yard breaststroke.
