| Sergio Marquez, owner of La Canasta Fresh Market located at 6626 Kennedy Avenue in Hammond, has purchased the former Knights of Columbus property located at 3916 173rd Street in Hammond. Mr. Marquez plans to use the commercial kitchen to prepare food for his nearby supermarket as well as redevelop the property into a modern banquet hall.
Antony Miocic, of Latitude Commercial Real Estate, brokered the transaction. “This long-underused property is going to be renovated and reopened as a banquet hall in the future. This project as well as the city’s new Amy Park across the street are great additions to the neighborhood.” Latitude Commercial provides commercial real estate services throughout Northwest Indiana and the South Chicago Suburbs.
