Local Celebrities Up for Adoption at Humane Society Calumet Area

Humane-Society-Calumet-AreaNow through November 22, eleven local celebrities have agreed to put themselves up for adoption to raise awareness and funds for the animals of Humane Society Calumet Area (HSCA).

Each celebrity has been placed for adoption on the Munster-based organization’s website at www.hscalumet.org/adoptaceleb.asp and will solicit donations to help raise the adoption fee of $1,000.

“We’re grateful that these prominent members of our community are donating their time and resources to support homeless animals,” HSCA CEO Rachel Delaney expressed. “With this fundraiser, we hope to raise both awareness about the importance of adopting a shelter pet and funds to care for the 400 homeless animals at HSCA.”

Ron Harlow, actor, comedian, and host of The Afternoon Fix 4-6 pm CST on WJOB 1230 AM
Erin Huang, Indiana state director for The Humane Society of the United States
Keith Kirkpatrick, president at Kpm Group and president/CEO of South Shore Leadership Center
Linda Lawson, Indiana State Representative – District 1
John Petalas, Lake County Treasurer
Vicki Urbanik, Porter County Budget and Finance Specialist
Bernie Zemen, member of the Highland Town Council and president of Timeless Images Photography

So far this year, 2,100 homeless and abandoned animals have sought shelter at HSCA. The funds raised during this fundraiser will help care for these homeless animals.
