LNI Learns How Government Really Works at City Hall in Michigan City

LNI-Learns-About-GovernmentThe current class of Leadership Northwest Indiana (LNI) participants met at City Hall in Michigan City on July 30 for their monthly LNI session. The topic was, “A Community of Engaged and Caring Citizens,” and the focus was on how local Government really works. They were welcomed by Michigan City Mayor Ron Meer. Cal Bellamy, Partner with Krieg De Vault LLP, also spoke on “Good Government Initiatives.” The day ended with an exercise on impacting the political process led by Michael Griffin, Clerk/Treasurer with the Town of Highland.

Today is about learning how to impact the political process in Northwest Indiana and empowering our LNI participants to get involved in making positive changes in our communities,” stated Keith Kirpatrick, President & CEO of the South Shore Leadership Center.
