Liberty Intermediate students and staff have been working hard the past few weeks collecting food for their annual food drive conducted Nov. 11-25. Student council spent the last two weeks sorting the food, putting 20 food baskets together for local families, and organizing the remainder of the items to be donated to the Westchester Neighbors Food Pantry in Chesterton.
LIS students brought in 4,637 food items this year. Special recognition goes to Michelle Olson's fifth grade class and Troy Young's sixth grade class for bringing on the most food in their homeroom.
