Luxor Homes has broken ground for their newest development Liberty Estates. Located in Merrillville, the subdivision will provide housing for the growing population of Northwest Indiana. Liberty Estates is being developed by Luxor Homes’ president, Randy Hall, and will be represented by McColly broker, Traci Van Gundy.
“My team and I could not be more excited for this official groundbreaking; roads will be going in very soon. We've already taken down a couple of lot deposits.” expressed Van Gundy.
“It's great because this location is right off 30. It's close to Schererville, Crown Point and Hobart,” Van Gundy said. “I enjoy working alongside Randy because he is a local builder who truly cares and believes in giving back to the community.”
A percentage of each home sale will benefit local charities including: St. Jude House, Boys & Girls Club of Greater NWI, Opportunity Enterprises, and Center For Possibilities. Representatives from each organization took turns at the podium to express their gratitude and give an overview of their organization’s cause and mission.
“I wanted to pay it forward with some of the organizations that I personally have some sentiment with,” said Hall. “It’s my goal to give back a little bit and to reinvest in the community.”
Also at the event was McColly Real Estate’s Chairman, Ron McColly. McColly noted how the pandemic has surged a “work from home” market, changing housing demands and allowing people to move further out from the city and into Indiana suburbs.
“Northwest Indiana is right in the center of the United States’ two biggest trading partners - Mexico and Canada,” said McColly, “So, what happens is we are a hub for goods to get transported through. Northwest Indiana has three federal highways, an airport, railroads, and we've got a dock, so we have all four forms of transportation. This makes it a logical place for not only goods in the United States, but for goods from around the world to come into and encourage growth.”
After the speakers, the crowd at the event waited in anticipation for the symbolic groundbreaking. Behind the site stood heavy equipment whose operators were ready to get started on the new development once given the go-ahead.
“This subdivision upon completion will represent over 1000 households,” Hall said. “We will offer multiple housing types at varying price points. I really think this is an excellent opportunity to open up this whole area by preparing for the future growth of Merrillville.”To learn more about Liberty Estates contact Traci Van Gundy at teamtvgre.mccolly.com
