Legacy Foundation and Urban League of Northwest Indiana Partner to Help Qualified Non-Filers Receive Economic Impact Payments

Urban League of Northwest Indiana will receive a grant from Legacy Foundation, through the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Donor Advised Fund, to help low-income individuals in Lake County, Indiana receive recovery rebates.

The Non-Filer tool, developed in partnership between the IRS and the Free File Alliance, is designed for people who don't have a return filing obligation. The feature is free and available only on https://www.irs.gov/, and users should look for Non-filers: Enter Payment Info Here to take them directly to the tool.

When to call for assistance: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 am – 3 pm

Who is eligible to complete the IRS Non-Filers tool?
Eligible U.S. citizens or permanent residents who:
• Have a valid social security number,
• Could not be claimed as a dependent of another taxpayer, and
• Had gross income that did not exceed $12,200 ($24,400 for married couples) for 2019.
