Businesses in every industry, from healthcare to steel, all require offices to some degree. They are places to work, collaborate, and host – places for businesses to call home. That means finding the right space is critical to both long and short-term success, and that is why Latitude Commercial created a dedicated team of office specialists to help their clients find a solution that fits their needs.
“Whether it’s medical, professional, or flex spaces of all classes, we can handle it,” said Antony Miocic, director of the Office Group at Latitude Commercial. “We’re here to listen, and we’ve worked with just about every type of office user around.”
Miocic noted that understanding the nuances of different industries, and even individual specialties within those industries, is a critical part of the job. Each client brings unique space requirements and preferred layouts.
“When you tell me it’s a medical office, I want to know if it’s a general practitioner, an OBGYN, or a dermatologist, or another kind of medical provider,” said Miocic. “Just from experience, I have an idea of what’s different about all of those fields and what accommodations they need. They might need a lab or an x-ray room while someone like an attorney might need more conference rooms.”
Diagnosing those needs stretches beyond the interior as Latitude Commercial also works with their clients to find the best geographic location. Every office space provides different parking resources, nearby traffic flows, and levels of public visibility.
“There are some companies that might not need the publicity of a main road,” said Chandler Kimmel, associate broker with Latitude Commercial’s Office Group. “Then there are dentists and med spas that really prefer to be on main roads, getting a lot of that traffic flow going past for publicity.”
They even work with clients to determine how plans for future growth might impact their needs.
“We take plans for growth into consideration,” Kimmel said. “If they’re anticipating expanding and hiring, they might need more rooms for offices or a lot of open space for cubicles.”
Another part of Latitude’s success comes from a deep understanding of Northwest Indiana, the intricacies of its real estate market, and the factors impacting it.
“We see a lot of impact from Chicago, good and bad,” Miocic said. “Just being in the proximity, our rental rates are a lot lower, so there are a lot of businesses looking to move out here. It helps that Northwest Indiana is very well connected to main thoroughfares; all of our towns are connected. It’s like one big city essentially, with so many diverse businesses that feed into the ‘office environment.’”
Beyond its expertise and knowledge, Latitude’s Office Group also understands that being friendly, professional, and easy to work with are also essential parts of being a realtor.
“A lot of our job comes down to being personable,” Miocic said. “I think a lot about what I’d like or wouldn’t like if I were having something sold to me. You want to be knowledgeable, likable, and able to joke around a little bit while still being professional and knowing what you’re talking about. That’s what we’ve learned here at Latitude.”

“We take you seriously no matter your size,” Miocic said. “There are other places that only look at clients searching for Class A, 10,000 square foot plus type leases. Here, if you’re a medical user that needs 2,000 square feet or an attorney that needs an individual office suite, we’re honored to help.”
