St. Jude House is a safe emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their dependent children. They provide housing, advocacy and compassionate assistance. Every person that stays at St. Jude receives a pillow and bedding.

“We try to make their stay cozy and home-like as possible,“ said Val Lay, director of development. Bed pillows are always needed and used.

Members of L.A.M.A. are reaching out to their employers, family and friends to help with their pillow drive for St. Jude House. Emmanuel Verdi, business manager for L.A.M.A., set up a drop off location at his employment Milton Brunson Elementary School in Chicago. “I felt that it’s very important to ask for the help of every human being I interact with especially my co-workers that are just as giving as I am,” said Verdi.

L.A.M.A. member, Lourdes Hicks, has reached out to her community as well. “Helping St. Jude is dear to me because I know every bit of help means a lot to those families,“ said Hicks. Hicks is currently setting up donation locations within East Chicago.
