Mother Goose on the Loose is a 30 minute interactive nursery rhyme program for 6 to 23 month old infants and toddlers accompanied by a caregiver. It includes rhymes, stories, music, and movement.

Power Paws for Kids

Children of all ages will have the opportunity to read a library book to one of the registered Delta Society Pet Partner dogs (accompanied by their trainers). The dogs are provided through Power paws for Kids, a non-profit organization. Registration is not required.

This class gives toddlers a chance to be on their own while still having a caregiver in the background. Sessions include stories, songs, rhymes, and a craft. While the children are encouraged to sit in the front and participate on their own, a caregiver must attend with the child. Registration is not required.

Fine Arts After School

Children currently in kindergarten and older are invited to partake in a three-week art class. Each Wednesday participants will explore and create a different type of art. Those who attend all three sessions will also work on a paper mache craft. Registration is required to insure that adequate supplies are available.

Power Paws for Reading

Power Paws for Kids is a unique program where children are matched up with a dog and a volunteer to practice reading aloud. All levels of readers are welcome.

Children's Book Week – Recommended by...You

What's your favorite story? Children of all ages are invited to submit a book review of their favorite book to celebrate Children's Book Week. The 'review' can be any length or even a picture of the story. All submissions will be placed in a binder of “Recommended Titles” and incorporated in a book display. Prizes will be awarded to all participants. Registration is not required.

Story Hour for Fantastic 4s & 5s

This bi-weekly class allows children to exert their independence and attend by themselves. The sessions include stories, songs, rhymes, a short film, and a craft. Children attend the first half of the program on their own and then retrieve their adult for the craft at the end. Registration is not required.

The program is designed for parents who want to learn how to play with their baby (birth to 23 months of age), while stimulating mental growth. Individual sessions include rhymes, chants, songs, stories, and activities geared to help early childhood development.

Young LEGO enthusiasts, kindergarten and up, are invited to stop by any time from 3 to 7 p.m. for creative building time with other kids. Participants will construct with LEGO blocks, then share their structures with the group.

Families can take a break and enjoy a film on the library's cinematic screen. In this take on a Disney classic, iconic villain Maleficent, battling with the king of humans, places a curse upon his newborn infant. As the child grows Maleficent realizes that the child holds the key to peace in the kingdom. Rated PG with a run time of 97 minutes. Registration is not required.
