Lake County Public Library Adult Programs in March 2015

Lake-County-Public-LibraryThis is a month-long, online book discussion available to anyone, anywhere, at any time of day through email of: “O Pioneers!” by Willa Cather, the story of a young swedish immigrant girl who inherits her father's farm and must transform it from raw prairie into a prosperous enterprise. It is the first of Cather's great heriones – all of women of strong will and even stronger desire to overcome adversity and succeed. But the wild land itself is an equally important 'character' in Cather's books, and her descriptions of it are evocative, lush, and moving.
