Lake Central Softball rolls past Lowell 12-0

The Lake Central Indians softball team continued their early success on Monday evening, besting the Lowell Red Devils 12-0 in a 6 inning game.

Led by Peyton Pepkowski’s one hit, 13 strikeout performance, the Lake Central girls showed up in every facet. They put their first run on the board in the second inning off a solo homer by Kiley Conner, but truly broke the game open in the sixth when Bree Mitchell and Mikayla Creasbaum each sent a shot over the fence.

“At this point, we just want to be better every day,” said Jeff Sherman, Head Coach for the Indians. “Tonight, I don’t think we came out with as much intensity to start the game, but by about the fourth we really started kicking up the excitement level with some really great at-bats, and Pepkowski just did a great job on the circle for us like she does every time.”

Lake Central will visit Michigan City tomorrow evening at 4:30, while the Red Devils will look to bounce back on a road trip against Kankakee Valley at 4:45.
