Merrillville Boys Basketball held steady at #2 in the state and Lake Central Girls Basketball moved up two spots to #12 after another spotless weekend in the latest IBCA Girls and Boys Top 20 rankings.
The Lady Indians survived a scare against East Chicago Central 66-64 on 12/16 before cruising to a 62-20 victory over DAC counterpart, Crown Point, on Friday. The two wins this week brings the Indians’ record to 12-1 on the season and 4-0 in DAC play.
The Lady Indians have the week off for the Holiday break before taking part in the Bankers Classic Holiday Tournament on 12/29.
Merrillville Boys enjoyed the week off and get to relax today before a Tuesday/Wednesday doubleheader against Hammond Morton and East Chicago Central.
Class 3A Griffith Boys Basketball also made a move in this week’s rankings, moving up to #11 after a strong 5-0 start. The Panthers have a couple weeks off before facing Hobart on 1/9.
