Joyce Huggins Presents Harriet Beecher Stowe at the Crown Point Library

Stowe-MuseumSpeaking and dressed as Harriet Beecher Stowe, Joyce shares stories of Harriet's life growing up in Connecticut in the early 19th century. Mrs. Stowe will talk about teaching, motherhood, slavery and being a writer.

Find out what motivated Mrs. Stowe to write the novel that catapulted her into international fame and out of poverty. Discover what people thought of this most famous book, Uncle Tom's Cabin, and how it influenced actions that led to the emancipation of the slave.

Meet Harriet Beecher Stowe at the Crown Point Library on Tuesday, March 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the Library Meeting Rooms.

The event is free and is sponsored by the Friends of the Crown Point Library. Registration not required.
