S.T.E.A.M. Friday!
Fridays, Jan. 2, 23 & 30
All Day
Using Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math, children will enjoy experimenting, designing, building, computing, and crafting. This month explore snow, ice and cold.

Mother Goose on the Loose
Fridays, January 2 & 16
10:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m.
Babies and toddlers, birth to 36 months of age, will participate in stories, nursery rhymes, finger plays and music activities designed to enhance important pre-literacy skills.

Learning & More @ the Library
Mon.-Sat., Jan. 5-31
All Day
All month long enjoy early literacy activities, along with crafts and more for all ages. It's always fun @ the library.

Preschool Story Time Class
Tuesdays, January 6 & 20
10:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.
4 and 5 year old children will hear stories and participate in music activities, rhymes, crafts, and other activities with an emphasis on important early pre-reading skills.

LEGO Mania
Thursday, January 8
4:30 p.m.
Children through grade 6 will make and display their own LEGO creations made with library LEGO bricks. All supplies and snacks provided. Preschool children must be accompanied by an adult.

Toddler Time
Thursdays, January 8 & 22
10:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.
Toddlers, 2 and 3 years of age accompanied by a caregiver, will participate in stories, finger play, music activities, crafts, and more. Activities are designed to help develop important pre-literacy skills.

Midwinter Crafts
Saturday, January 10
10 a.m.
Children of all ages are welcomed to make crafts geared toward inside fun during bad winter weather with ice experiments and more.

Block Party
Tuesday, January 13
10:30 a.m.
Children can enjoy free play with blocks of all sizes. Parents will have fun interacting with their children while learning how to help them develop a variety of skills through block play. Five stations are set up, each with a different set of blocks that aids the children in learning a specific skill in this class offered by the Purdue Extension Agency for families with children 8 months to 8 years of age.

Sensational Science
Thursday, January 15
4 p.m.
Open to anyone in middle or high school as presented in collaboration with Boy Scouts of America to promote STEM, teens can experiment, plan, build, and compute. Please be sure to register for this sensational program.

Be A Movie Star at LCPL
Monday, January 19
5 p.m.
Children in kindergarten through grade 5 can get their inner theatrics on making costumes, acting out skits, and more.

Snow Fun for All
Monday, January 26
6:30 p.m.
In this family story time enjoy the cold in the warmth of the library experimenting with snow and ice. Hear and participate in stories, songs, and other activities.

This is a 30 minute session for 2 to 5 year old children, accompanied by a caregiver, and includes simiple patterning and building activities with the library's DUPLO blocks.

LEGO Club

School age children, kindergarten to grade 6, will use their creativity to build unique projects with the library's LEGO bricks.

Mother Goose on the Loose is a 30 minute interactive nursery rhyme class for 6 to 23 month old infants and toddlers (accompanied by a caregiver). It includes rhymes, stories, music, and movement.

Power Paws for Kids

Children of all ages will have the opportunity to read a library book to one of the registered Delta Society Pet Partner dogs (accompanied by their trainers). The dogs are provided through Power Paws for Kids, a non-profit organization. Registration is not required.

Winter Wonderland
Thursday, January 29
6:30 p.m.
Children in kindergarten through 6th grade will have a wonderful time making a winter craft, hearing stories, and having hot chocolate.

Family Sing Along Film Saturday, January 17
2-4 p.m.
We'll play a popular movie on our cinematic screen as you sing along with the princesses and snowmen. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Call the library for the film's title. Rated PG, run time 103 minutes.

Debunking the Presidents: Folklore Behind American Leaders

Children in kindergarten or older will look at the myths and legends behind four of our past presidents in each of these four sessions. First up is George Washington, then Abraham Lincoln, followed by Benjamin Harrison and Barak Obama.
