Lowell-Lieutenant Terry Gose, Commander of the Indiana State Police Lowell District, welcomes five new troopers to the Lowell District.
Five new state troopers reported for duty Monday October 30th, to the Indiana State Police Post in Lowell. The troopers are from a class of 37 troopers who just graduated from the 77th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy on Thursday October 19th. During the training period the recruits received over 500 hours of classroom instruction as well as nearly 300 hours of hands-on practical and scenario based training exercises. These troopers will now be assigned to train with veteran troopers for the next 13 weeks before receiving their own patrol cars for solo patrol. The Lowell District consists of Lake, Porter, La Porte, Newton, Jasper, Pulaski, and Starke Counties.
Brayan Elias-Espinoza, 27 is originally from Arizona where he graduated from Buena High School in Sierra Vista, AZ. He attended Calumet College where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He previously worked as security at the Chicago Consulate. He resides in Lake County.
Zach Huston, 24 from Portage, Indiana. He graduated from Portage High School. He attends Indiana University Northwest studying Criminal Justice. He previously worked at the Porter County Jail in Valparaiso. He and his family reside in Porter County.
Connor Davidson, 24 of Hammond, Indiana. He graduated from Morton High School. He studied Liberal Arts at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. He previously worked as security guard. He resides in Lake County.
Nicholas Price, 24 is originally from Plainfield, Indiana. He graduated from Plainfield High School. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Criminal Justice. He previously worked as a dental assistant, in a consignment shop, and was a soccer coach at Plainfield High School. He resides in Lake County.
Timothy Borsa, 29 was originally from Marshall County in Indiana. He graduated from Triton Junior/Senior High School in Bourbon, Indiana. He attended Vincennes University in Evansville studying Conservation. He previously worked in metal building supply. He resides in Porter County.
