Hoosier Businesses Can Make Impact in Washington at D.C. Fly-in Event

IndianaChamberLogo-3CWashington may feel a world away sometimes, but policies and regulations made in our nation’s capital have a direct impact on Indiana’s economy. That’s makes it all the more important that business leaders have the opportunity to have their voices heard at theIndiana Chamber of Commerce’s annual D.C. Fly-inSeptember 17-18.

The event features a roundtable discussion/dinner on September 17, where business and community leaders have the chance to meet and speak with the Indiana congressional delegation.

A panel of national and state election experts will speak September 18 before attendees are invited to participate in three group visits to congressional offices.

Issues up for discussion include the planned Environment Protection Agency regulations on existing coal powered plants as well as immigration reform, tax reform and the imminent depletion of the nation’s highway trust fund.

“The Indiana Chamber's annual D.C. Fly-In is a very productive and well planned event. Last year, I was able to meet and interact with almost the entire Indiana Congressional delegation,” says Matt Monaghan, senior vice president for Zimmer Inc. in Warsaw.

“The panel discussion/dinner was also a great opportunity to hear our legislators interact and talk about critical issues. I definitely plan to attend again this year.”

Cost for the event is $149 per person, with group discounts available. Each attendee is responsible for making travel arrangements. Hotel rooms are available for Indiana Chamber Fly-in guests at the Hyatt Regency Washington, Capitol Hill.
