Hobart High School Hosts 1st Annual Marching Band Festival

Hobart High School held its first annual Hobart Marching Band Festival on September 28, featuring performances by high school marching bands including Wheeler, Highland, Michigan City, Merrillville, Crown Point, as will as its own.

The Wheeler High School Bearcat Band and Guard, composed of 16 winds, four percussion and six guard, performed “Scheherazade;” Highland High School Marching Trojan Pride, composed of 24 winds, 13 percussion and 18 guard, performed “Operatives;” Michigan City High School Wolf Pack Marching Band, composed of 53 winds, 11 percussion and 16 guard, performed “Little Shop of Horrors.” Merrillville High School Band of Pirates, composed of 70 winds, 12 drumline, eight pit and 15 guard, performed “How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse;” Crown Point High School Royal Regiment, composed of 79 winds, 18 percussion and 22 guard, performed “Piano Man: The Music of Billy Joel;” and the Hobart High School Pride of Hobart, composed of 34 winds, seven percussion and five guard, performed “Voyage to the New World.”
