High school students invited to explore IU Northwest degree programs during Academic Exploration Days on March 27, April 3

Gary, Ind. -- Indiana University Northwest’s Office of Admissions invites high school students and their families to learn more about the campus’s 70+ academic programs, and meet with admissions and career services teams, during its Academic Exploration Days.

The opportunity, set for 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 27 and again on Friday, Apr. 3, gives students a chance to go “inside” popular degree programs. Activities include fun, informative workshops, hands-on learning opportunities, and talks with current faculty members and students. Admissions counselors will also be available to answer questions and assist with onsite applications.

According to Admissions Counselor Kevin Smith, the events are designed to give students more insight into the types of career opportunities available to them once they complete their degrees. “We want students to know that with the right preparation and academic experience, they can look forward to a lifetime of success,” he said.

IU Northwest offers a wide range of degree programs—in the classroom and online—to local students seeking to complete their Indiana University education close to home. IU Northwest’s academic units include the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Health and Human Services, the School of Business and Economics, the School of the Arts, and the School of Education.

IU Northwest’s Academic Exploration Days are open to all high school students and their families. Registration is required to 219-980-6991 or admit@iun.edu. Learn more and RSVP at iun.edu/adm-events.
