Internationally recognized painter, Helen Burkett, will offer a 3-day workshop titled "Pandora on Fence" at the Chesterton Art Center August 5, 6 and 7 from 9-4 each day. Helen will be teaching a transparent watercolor painting technique. The Florida-based artist is known for her realistic botanicals, among other things. She has been featured in both the American Artist and International Artist magazines. The Chesterton Art Center has been honored to partner with her for a number of years. For this year's workshop, Helen will focus on the challenge of working in light colors.
The cost of the 3-day workshop is $100 for members and $125 for non-members. Once a student has registered and paid, he/she will receive a template and materials list. The class is limited to 16 and will fill up quickly. Call the Chesterton Art Center to register at 219-926-4711.
Prior to the workshop, Helen will be participating in the 2013 Chesterton Art Fair the weekend of August 2-3. Guests can see her work in person at the event being held in Hawthorne Park in Porter, IN. Admission is $5 at the door.
