Hartsfield Village earns spot on U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best Short-Term Rehabilitation Centers

Hartsfield Village has been recognized as a 2024 Best Nursing Home for Short-Term Rehabilitation by U.S. News & World Report for a second consecutive year.

The annual report assists prospective residents and their families in making informed decisions in consultation with their medical professionals about where to receive short- or long-term nursing home care.

Hartsfield Village is a continuing care retirement community that celebrates the full continuum of life and promotes successful aging. A service of Community Healthcare System, Hartsfield Village offers independent living, assisted living, rehabilitation and nursing care on a 38-acre campus at 10000 Columbia Ave. in Munster, just 22 miles from Chicago.

“Receiving this recognition two years in a row is a testament to the work we do here,” said Leslie Darrow, executive director of Hartsfield Village and vice president of Post Acute Services at Community Healthcare System. “This distinction reflects our commitment to providing the best care in the most nurturing of environments for our patients and residents.”

U.S. News & World Report rated more than 15,000 nursing homes on care, safety, infection rates, staffing and health inspections. To calculate the ratings, U.S. News evaluated each nursing home’s performance using a variety of data obtained from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Ratings include data on consistency of registered nurse staffing, use of antipsychotic drugs, and success in preventing ER and hospital visits. The short-term rehabilitation rating includes measures of a home’s success in preventing falls and serious infections, and making sure residents are able to return home.
