Santa Baby, a brand-new Harley-Davidson, too… light blue! Attendees of the Harley-Davidson of Valparaiso’s VIP Ladies Night were making lists and crossing off wishes on others’ as well.
The casual, in-store event drew customers from across the Region, offering cocktails, appetizers, on-site gift wrapping, and discounts that couldn’t be passed up.
“This event is our kick-off to the holiday season. It tends to get everyone in the holiday spirit, especially us here in the store. We love decorating and setting up for everyone to come in and see us for their holiday shopping,” said Jeff Haggerty, General Manager at Harley-Davidson of Michigan City and Valparaiso.
Walking into Harley-Davidson of Valparaiso felt like walking into a family member’s living room for many. The store was merrily decked out in decorations, offered home cooking and recipes provided by Ginger Misch, MotorClothes® Manager at Harley-Davidson of Valparaiso, and of course exuded the welcoming presence of people who have formed into family over the years.
“I come every year; This will be my fourth year attending Ladies Night, and the people are what really keeps me coming back year after year,” said Susan Garrison, long-time Harley-Davidson of Valparaiso customer. “I always tell all my friends to come out; it’s such a great time getting to talk to everyone and of course the deals are awesome, too.”
Contrary to the events name, both men and women came out to see what Harley had to offer and join in on the fun. And the best part? Getting a head start on what can turn into stressful last-minute holiday shopping.
“Ladies night is really cool because it allows our customers to get a jump start on their holiday shopping along with enjoying some food, drinks, and a discount,” said Misch. “Everyone relaxes and it takes some pressure off of last-minute shopping.”
Customers grabbed a drink, settled in, and shopped around the store, all while chatting with staff and loved ones.
“The customers can come in and just hangout. They don’t even necessarily end up buying things sometimes, but it’s a great event to be social and see everyone,” Haggerty said.
Although summer is the main time for most Harley-Davidson riding events, Misch and the Harley family always look forward to winter-based gatherings to check-in with customers.
“It’s great to see everyone come out to our events during the colder months. We’re like one big family getting together for the holidays,” said Misch. “We get to catch up, and of course have fun shopping for loved ones.”
All items bought at VIP Ladies Night are hand wrapped with Harley-Davidson wrapping paper, and all bills placed in the tip jar are put toward a local children’s shelter.
“The people are friendly, and I trust them,” said Jim Hootnick, Harley-Davidson of Valparaiso customer. “Nobody compares to the staff here. They treat us and the people in the community like family.”
