Happy Independence Day from PATH

Happy Independence Day from PATH

It’s July and I’m heading on vacation with my family. I hope that you too are taking time to enjoy some time together and a little R&R as we begin to see and feel some sense of normalcy returning to our daily lives.

It’s a busy time here at the PATH office; we are training approximately 60 new facilitators to work with youth in three different states serving youth with our evidence-based Positive Potential curricula. We also have a baby coming in July and a wedding! (We; meaning a team member, and not me!) We are working with the Hammond School Corp.; facilitating mentor trainings and assisting with a three day freshmen retreat. Regular programming continues with the Lake & Porter County Juvenile Detention Centers and so much more. While summer can be a busy time, you are sure to hear, “I’m bored and there’s nothing to do.” Or you may just see your teens becoming couch potatoes or living in a false reality with gaming. If that’s the case or you just seem to have run out of ideas, visit this list of the Top 10 Summer Activities for Teens and Tweens.

Enjoy the rest of your summer. Make some time for yourself too – maybe read a book or binge watch that series you’ve been wanting to see OR just sit quietly at the beach and listen to the waves roll in. Whatever you enjoy that gives you some peace and calm
