Wed., April 1:
1 p.m.: Kids who love to play the board game, Candyland, can play a life-sized version at 1 p.m. Ages 6 to 13 should register by calling the Hammond Public Library’s Youth Services department at (219) 931-5100, Ext. 336.
4 p.m.: The Hammond Public Library shows an after-school movie for ages 6 to 13. The movie is about a boy who has a bad day. Information is with the library, 564 State St.; (219) 931-5100, Ext. 336.
6:30 p.m. Welcome to the World of Music, a free music class, takes place at the Hammond Public Library.

Thurs., April 2:
4 p.m.: The Hammond Public Library’s Teen Book Club, for grades 7 through 12, discuss what they’re reading with other teens. There are prizes for those who attend. For details, please call teen librarian, Aysha Haq, at (219) 931-5100, Ext. 351.

Sat., April 4:
How much is your stuff worth? Find out as Valerie Macko from Macko Antiques Galleries visits the Hammond Public Library from 12 noon to 2 p.m. to appraise your items. Information is with Mary Schons, Head of Information Services, at (219) 931-5100, Ext. 327. The library is at 564 State Street.

Mon., April 6:
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: ACME Pawn Pushers chess club meets at the library. Regular meetings are free and open to all experience levels.
11 a.m.: A free Windows 8 Basic computer class is offered at the Hammond Public Library. Registration is required by calling Carol Williams at (219) 931-5100, Ext. 345.
2 p.m.: The Hammond Public Library offers an advanced level computer class on creating Letters and Resumes. Registration is required by calling Carol Williams at (219) 931-5100, Ext. 345.

6:30 p.m.: Welcome to the World of Music, a free music class, takes place at the Hammond Public Library.

Thurs., April 9:
10 a.m.: Hammond Public Library’s Babies and Books storytime is for newborns to age 18 months, and their parents.
10:30 a.m.: The library’s Tiny Tots program serves ages 18 months to 2 years.
11 a.m.: The Hammond Public Library’s Twos and Threes program meets. Ages 2 and 3 hear songs, a story, and activities about spring animals.
3:30 p.m. Interested in knitting or crochet? Join us at the Hammond Public Library for Stitching in the Stacks. Details are with Liz Samaniego at (219) 931-5100, Ext. 331.
4 p.m.: Ages 10 to 13 are invited to the Hammond Public Library’s “Just for Tweens” program. Learn how windmills produce power, and make your own windmill.
