Habitat for Humanity of Northwest and the Greater Hammond Indiana Food Pantry, a Partnership for Food and Shelter

Tent-Sale-2015Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana’s ReStore and the Greater Hammond Indiana Food Pantry is partnering to raise awareness of the fundamental needs of families needing food and decent, affordable shelter in Lake County. The Greater Hammond Food Pantry has been serving hungry families since 1975. They provide a three to five day supply of food every thirty days.

“We have partnered with other non- profits in the past like the Adopt a Pet event for Calumet Humane Society in Munster, Ind.,” said Rick Johnson, ReStore Assistant Manager.

To celebrate this partnership Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana’s ReStore is having a tent sale on Saturday, July 11th from 9am to 5pm at 6114 West Ridge Road, next to the Griffith Menards. The ReStore is full of gently used and new items for home remodeling and decorating.

Pizza samples will be provided by Cornerstone Pizza, popcorn and pop will be available for purchase. You can get 50% off one item if you bring in non- perishable items (restrictions may apply) for Greater Hammond Food Pantry. Call 219-923-3000 for details.
