Dan Klein, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana; Frank Mrvan, North Township Trustee; Michael Zimmerman, Principal, Area Career Center; Dave Whitworth, President, Hessville Eagle Riders #3117; Michael Sparber, Chairman, NWIVAC (Northwest Indiana Veterans Action Council); Speros Batistatos, President/CEO, South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority; Hammond Elks #0485; along with individual donors and our Veteran partner family, kicked off the construction remodel of our Veteran Home Build on Friday, February 26th, 2016. The home is scheduled to be completed by May 2016.
Frank Mrvan, North Township Trustee, donated the home to Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana with the hopes of finding a veteran who would like to live there. Donations from the Hessville Eagle Riders #3117, Hammond Elks #0485, South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority, Northwest Indiana Veterans Action Council, and individual donors, allowed Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana begin the rehab! Area Career Center students also partnered with Habitat to experience working on this home by gutting the house, installing windows and working on the newly designed interior.
