Glidefit Class at Fitness Pointe Takes Small Group Cross-training to a Whole New Level

Glidefit-Class-at-Fitness-Pointe-Takes-Small-Group-Cross-training-to-a-Whole-New-LevelIf you like a challenge and enjoy the water, the new GlideFit CardioWave “floating fitness” workout is designed especially for you.

During a 55-minute session at Community Hospital Fitness Pointe, participants stand on workout boards similar to thick rectangular paddleboards in the pool and perform a variety of exercises.

“This workout mixes aquatic-based stability training with high-intensity interval training,” explains Patty Grill, GlideFit class instructor. “As you are balancing on your board, others are making waves in the water challenging you to remain upright. This tests core strength, balance and endurance.”

GlideFit CardioWave class is part of the COACH Small Group Training sessions available at Fitness Pointe. Fitness Pointe’s Small Group Training program offers the benefits of working with an instructor at a fraction of the cost of private lessons.

“Whether for general fitness conditioning, workout variety or athletic performance training, the added motivation of having others working out with you pushes you to a whole new effort level,” said Nikki Sarkisian, exercise program manager at Fitness Pointe.

COACH participants pay for 8 classes during a 9 week period (to allow for one absence in the schedule). Small Group Training program selections meet once per week. Courses include Barre-Lates, Functional Integrated Strength Training, GlideFit CardioWave, Kettle-lates, No Limits Ultimate Metabolic Conditioning, Pilates Allegro, Advanced Pilates Allegro, Tower of Power Reformer training and TRX Suspension Training. Beginning July 21, the course selection will include a new Small Group Training program that incorporates conditioning and boxing into one class. Inquire at the time of registration. Cost of one full session is $128 (Fitness Pointe members) and $152 (non-members).

Registration for the next session enrollment period is May 9 through 18 for classes that take place May 19 to July 20. Another consecutive Summer FitCamp session is scheduled for July 21 through August 17.
