Getting to know Levin Tire’s newest employees: Jason “J” Christensen

When Levin Tire & Service Center’s newest employee left the world of retail to join the automotive business, he did so out of a desire to help others.

“Every day, it is helping somebody with whatever they need, even if it's just an oil change and going from there,” said Jason “J” Christensen, service advisor at Levin’s Highland location.

Christensen began working at Levin just under a month ago alongside fellow Service Advisor John Tyler. As a service advisor, Christensen has the opportunity to help others choose between a wide range of service options to find the solution that best fits the customer’s current conundrum. Through every career he’s had, Christensen has always enjoyed being of service.

“In my previous life, I worked in retail for a lot of years and then construction before that,” said Christensen. “It was always about helping people.”

Working at Levin has provided Christensen with the chance to both help people and utilize his talents as a problem solver.

“This really hits my forte of being able to be a problem solver for the community and a go-to stop,” he said. “A customer comes in, they’ve got a problem, and we help solve it.”

One particular pleasure of Christensen’s is being able to help that customer who makes it to the center in the nick of time. Whether that be the customer coming in right before the center closes or right before the wheels fall off their car, Christensen finds it very rewarding to get that customer back on their way with the problem solved.

“One of the things that stands out is that last minute customer that’s coming through with a flat tire or whatever the emergency is,” said Christensen. “Being able to just handle it and take care of that situation and get them back on the road and comfortable with where they're at is a good feeling.”

An aspect of Levin that really drew Christensen in is the fact that he didn’t just join a team of automotive experts; he joined a family.

“It's really a family environment. It goes back to the foundation of what Levin is: a family business,” he said. “Every day at the counter, everybody's supporting each other and really looking out for each other and for our customers. If there's something that somebody else notices that maybe the person working with the customer doesn't, they're right there to back each other up and make sure that we're taking care of our customers the best we can.”

With years of sales experience and a willingness to go out of his way to help others, Levin’s Highland location couldn’t have asked for a new employee that fits the culture more than Christensen does. The respect, however, goes both ways.

“I'm just really happy to be here,” said Christensen.
