Last week, Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson and HUD Assistant Secretary Sandra B. Henriquez signed a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement to address administrative, financial and management concerns at the Gary Housing Authority (see press release below and attached). On Wednesday, Aug. 7, Henriquez will join Freeman-Wilson in hosting three town hall meetings throughout the city to explain how the partnership will work. Gary Housing residents are strongly encouraged to attend, and the general public/media are invited as well. Attendees will get an opportunity to ask questions and share any suggestions or feedback.
“I wanted to begin the dialogue with residents immediately,” said Freeman-Wilson. “I want them to understand what is going to take place and how this partnership will help improve the operations and overall service delivery at the Gary Housing Authority.”
The locations for the town hall meetings are listed below. Gary Housing residents who are need of transportation are asked to contact their property manager.
