Friendship Botanic Gardens Easter Egg Hunt an Unprecedented Success

On Easter Sunday, April 21st, Friendship Botanic Gardens was thrilled to play host to the largest crowds yet during the third annual Easter “Egg-Stravaganza” Egg Hunt. Over 2000 kids and adults from across the region flocked to the blooming Gardens to hunt for eggs filled with candy and toys, meet the Easter Bunny, and pet a live rabbit animal ambassador. Begun in 2016, the Egg-Stravaganza continues to grow larger in scale every year. 2019’s festivities featured a record 15,000 eggs sprinkled across the grounds.

"The challenge now is figuring out how to make it bigger and better next year," said Board President John Leinweber

The Friendship Botanic Gardens Board of Directors created this free family event as part of an ongoing campaign to revitalize the Gardens into a thriving community destination point. In 2018 alone over 35,000 people visited the gardens, and the Board of Directors is anticipating over 45,000 visitors in 2019, up from just 4,000 yearly guests just a few years prior.

The Friendship Botanic Gardens family would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to all the hardworking staff and volunteers who helped make this event such an unprecedented and smashing success.
