The Rev. Henry Sequeira, a chaplain in the Franciscan Health Dyer Spiritual Services Department, blesses with holy water the location on a new, 3 Tesla, state-of-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging unit, during a recent celebration.
Patrick Maloney, left, hospital president and chief executive officer, was among numerous attendees. The device is said to offer unsurpassed imaging capability, including greater detail and higher resolution and faster exam times, for oncology, orthopedics and neuro scans, among others. According to the manufacturer, 3T Imaging of Morton Grove, Ill., the machine uses sophisticated technology that has previously been confined to research facilities and is the new standard in medical imaging.
