Sister Aline Shultz, vice president and chief operating officer for Franciscan Health Dyer and Munster, has been selected as an inaugural board member for the Northwest Indiana Influential Women Association, which represents Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties. Sister Aline has had a long involvement in supporting female business leaders and her efforts have received strong recognition. In 2010, she was selected the Female Healthcare Hero in Northwest Indiana for her contributions influencing aspiring women leaders in health care to pursue advanced degrees, and for her work with the Advisory Board of the Purdue University School of Nursing and the dean, to bring an on-site master’s degree programs to Franciscan Health nurses.
In 2011, she received the Athena Award in recognition for her leadership in health care, higher education and the community. In 2013 she received the Northwest Indiana Women’s Supporter of the Year in recognition for her role in bringing the University of Saint Francis to Crown Point and for her work in mentoring and coaching women to begin entry-level studies in nursing and to obtain advanced degrees. “It is a great honor to be asked to be an inaugural board member of the Northwest Indiana Influential Women Association,” Sister Aline said, adding, “Through this new organization, professional women across Northwest Indiana and young women aspiring to become leaders across Northwest Indiana now have their own group focused on their specific needs, including education and development, networking and events, and awards banquets. I am committed to working with my fellow board members in collaborating with the association’s corporate members to create meaningful opportunities and events for women leaders of today and the future.”
